[Mandatory Reporting Requirements for International Students]
1. Address Change Notification
All international students must report any change of address to the immigration office immediately after moving.
Failure to report within 15 days of the move will result in a fine, so please be careful.
How to Report: Visit the Immigration Office or local Community Service Center, or submit online via HiKorea website(http://hikorea.go.kr)
Deadline: Within 15 days of moving
Required Documents: Copy of housing contract, Alien Registration Card
※ If your name is not on the housing contract, you must submit a Residence/Accommodation Confirmation Form signed by the person providing housing, along with a copy of their ID.
★ You must report even if your dormitory room has been changed.
2. Passport Change Notification
If you renew your passport due to expiration, or if any information such as your passport number or name changes,
you must report the change to the immigration office within 15 days of receiving the new passport.
Note: Your visa can only be extended up to your passport’s validity, so if your passport is about to expire, renew it before applying for a visa extension.

Deadline: Within 15 days of passport issuance
Required Documents: Copy of new passport, Alien Registration Card, Application form
3. Part-Time Work Permission
International students must obtain permission from the immigration office before engaging in part-time work.
If a student works without permission, both the student and employer may be fined.
In serious cases, this may result in forced deportation and restrictions on future visa extensions.
Application Steps:
(1) Visit the International Cooperation Office (3rd floor, JBNU International Center) to prepare documents and get a signature from the officer in charge.
(2) Submit your application online at http://hikorea.go.kr (documents must be scanned)
When to Apply: At least 5 days before starting work
Eligibility: GPA of C (2.0) or above in the previous semester
Allowed Jobs: Simple labor or common part-time work for students (e.g., translation, interpretation, office assistant, restaurants)
Prohibited Jobs: Manufacturing, construction, teaching at academies, delivery, moving services, English camps/kids cafés, courier or food delivery services, etc.
Permitted Working Hours: Varies depending on course level, year, and language proficiency

※ English Track: Regardless of the academic year, holders of certificates with TOEFL scores of 530 (CBT 197, IBT 71) or higher, IELTS 5.5 or higher, CEFR B2, TEPS 601 points (NEW TEPS 327 points) or higher, as well as international students from countries where English is the native or official language, are exempt from submitting supporting documents.

Notes:
Students who exceed the standard period of study due to low GPA or unmet graduation requirements are not eligible
Within visa validity, students can work up to 1 year and at a maximum of 2 workplaces simultaneously
4. Research Activities by Graduate Students
At JBNU (Jeonbuk National University):
If the university or LINC Foundation provides research allowances:
Research/internship related to your studies: Exempt from part-time work permission
Research/internship unrelated to your studies: Part-time work permission required
Outside JBNU:
If a non-university organization provides research funding:
Research/internship related to your studies: Part-time work permission required
Research/internship unrelated to your studies: Visa change to E-3 is required
