On the 27th, Geumam Senior Welfare Center (Director Choi Jae-hoon) and the Department of Sports Science at Jeonbuk National University held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at enhancing community networks and establishing functional improvement and safety systems for elderly citizens experiencing age-related decline.

Under this agreement, the two institutions will operate sports massage and sports taping programs from September to November 2025 for local seniors, including members of the Geumam Senior Welfare Center, recipients of customized elderly care services, and senior center participants. These programs will provide valuable opportunities to experience professional exercise rehabilitation techniques.

Professor Kim Sang-hyun of the Department of Sports Science stated, “Through this agreement, we aim to promote the maintenance of physical function and quality of life for local seniors, while also offering our students valuable opportunities to apply their academic knowledge in practical field settings.”

The partnership is expected to present a meaningful welfare service model for the community through close cooperation between the university and the welfare center.

Director Choi Jae-hoon of the Geumam Senior Welfare Center added, “This agreement not only contributes to improving the health of seniors but also serves as an important step for mutual growth between the local community and the university. We will continue to expand collaborative projects to provide practical support for the elderly.”
