On September 3, 2025, the Department of Sports Science at Jeonbuk National University held its Fall Semester Sports Festival at the university gymnasium, bringing together both domestic and international students. The event provided an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to build connections and foster unity through sports.

The festival featured matches of pickleball — a rapidly growing “new sport” gaining global popularity — as well as basketball games in which undergraduate, graduate, domestic, and international students teamed up. The spirited competition and enthusiastic cheering filled the venue, while participants experienced firsthand the values of communication and unity that sports provide.

Following the games, about 70 students gathered for a dinner at Cheongyang Farm. This offered a chance for students from diverse cultural backgrounds to share experiences and interact more closely, further enriching the meaning of the festival.

A representative of the Department of Sports Science stated, “This sports festival was more than just a sporting event; it was a platform for domestic and international students to come together as one. We will continue to strengthen international exchange and community spirit through various programs in the future.”
