Department of Sports Science, Rehabilitation Division, Jeonbuk National University, Provides Sports Massage and Taping Services at Geumam Senior Welfare Center on September 19, 2025 — Ongoing Activities Based on Mutual Cooperation with Senior Welfare Center
Students from the Rehabilitation Division of the Department of Sports Science at Jeonbuk National University provided sports massage and sports taping services to seniors at the Hope Hall of Geumam Senior Welfare Center on September 19, 2025. This event is part of an ongoing community contribution program based on the mutual cooperation agreement between Jeonbuk National University's Department of Sports Science and Geumam Senior Welfare Center.
Rehabilitation Division students directly participated in the volunteer work, providing customized sports massage and taping tailored to the physical condition of each senior. The focus was on relieving muscle tension and promoting blood flow to reduce physical strain on the seniors.
One rehabilitation student remarked, “It was very rewarding to share the rehabilitation techniques I learned at school with the local seniors,” adding, “Through activities like this, I gained experience where my major knowledge was practically helpful.”
A representative from the Department of Sports Science stated, “Since signing the agreement with Geumam Senior Welfare Center, we have been conducting regular volunteer activities,” adding, “We plan to expand various health programs under continued mutual cooperation with the local community.”
Geumam Senior Welfare Center stated, “Thanks to the professional services provided by the students, the seniors expressed great satisfaction,” adding, “We look forward to continuing activities for health promotion together with the university and the welfare center.”
