
September 25, 2025: Jeonbuk National University Rehabilitation Students Provide Sports Massage and Taping Services at Geumam Senior Welfare Center — Ongoing Activities Based on Mutual Cooperation with Senior Welfare Center
Students from the Rehabilitation Division of Jeonbuk National University's Department of Sports Science provided sports massage and sports taping services to seniors at the Geumam Senior Welfare Center on September 25, 2025. This event is part of an ongoing community contribution program under the mutual cooperation agreement between Jeonbuk National University's Department of Sports Science and Geumam Senior Welfare Center.
Students from the Rehabilitation Division personally participated in the volunteer work, providing customized sports massage and taping tailored to each senior's individual physical condition. The focus was on relieving muscle tension, alleviating pain, and promoting blood circulation to assist seniors in their daily activities.
A rehabilitation student remarked, “It was meaningful to apply rehabilitation techniques in real life to help the elderly,” adding, “I want to continue participating in volunteer work and develop my professional skills.”
A representative from the Department of Sports Science stated, “We have been conducting regular volunteer activities since the agreement with Geumam Senior Welfare Center,” explaining, “This volunteer work was also prepared as an extension of that, and we plan to continue operating various health programs together in the future.”
The Geumam Senior Welfare Center stated, “Thanks to the students' meticulous service, the seniors were very satisfied,” adding, “We look forward to continued programs based on mutual cooperation between the university and the welfare center.”
