Department of Sports Science, Rehabilitation Division, Jeonbuk National University Conducts Sports Massage and Taping Volunteer Service at Geumam Senior Welfare Center on October 13, 2025 — Expanding Community Health Partnership
Students from the Rehabilitation Division of the Department of Sports Science at Jeonbuk National University conducted sports massage and sports taping volunteer activities for seniors at the Hope Hall of Geumam Senior Welfare Center on October 13, 2025. This service is part of an ongoing community contribution program based on a mutual cooperation agreement between Jeonbuk National University's Department of Sports Science and Geumam Senior Welfare Center.
On this day, Rehabilitation Division students directly participated, individually assessing the muscle condition of each senior before performing massage and taping. They focused particularly on relieving tension and reducing pain in the shoulder, neck, and lower back areas, while also providing guidance on light stretching.
One rehabilitation student remarked, “It was truly meaningful to have the opportunity to apply the theories learned in the classroom to the seniors' bodies,” adding, “I believe these activities will serve as a stepping stone for my professional growth.”
A representative from the Department of Sports Science stated, “Since signing the agreement with Geumam Senior Welfare Center, we have provided tangible assistance through each volunteer session,” adding, “We plan to continue collaborating on various projects, including health management programs and fitness classes.”
Geumam Senior Welfare Center conveyed, “Thanks to the students' meticulous and heartfelt service, the seniors were very satisfied,” expressing their hope that “the university will continue to provide consistent, senior-tailored health support activities.”
