Students from the Department of Sports Science at Jeonbuk National University participated in the 17th Jeonju Hanok Village National Badminton Tournament, gaining valuable practical experience and an opportunity to grow to the next level.

The tournament was held at Jeonju Hwasan Gymnasium on October 18th. Three teams (six students) from Jeonbuk National University's Department of Sports Science competed, showcasing their skills.

Notably, the pair of Kang Ji-in and Shin Yi-su advanced to the quarterfinals amidst fierce competition, showcasing excellent skill. Although the pairs of Lee Je-woo and Park Jin-woo, and Joo Hye-jin and Shin Geon-ho regrettably did not advance to the main draw, they gained valuable experience in a national-level tournament, honing their competitive instincts and laying a crucial foundation for future development.

One participating student shared, “Competing in a national-level tournament against diverse opponents taught me a great deal,” adding, “Based on this experience, I aim to address my weaknesses, train harder, and achieve better results in the next competition.”

Led by Professor Han Dong-wook, the Department of Sports Science at Jeonbuk National University provides systematic badminton training combining theory and practice. Participating in this tournament gave students the opportunity to apply the faculty's excellent guidance and expertise in real competition and grow.

Meanwhile, the participating students resolved to continue improving their skills through consistent training and tournament participation, pledging their best efforts to uphold the reputation of Jeonbuk National University's Department of Sports Science.
