Big Data Special Lecture — “Data Utilization and Advanced Technology Applications for Performance Enhancement”

The Department of Sports Science at Jeonbuk National University held a Big Data Special Lecture on October 31, 2025, focusing on data utilization and advanced technology applications in the sports field. This special lecture was organized to understand the importance of data-driven coaching and performance analysis within the rapidly changing sports industry environment and to explore future development directions for sports science.

In this lecture, Researcher Jeong Ho-deok (Korea Sports Science Institute) presented on the topic “Cases of Data Utilization and Advanced Technology Application, Including AI and Big Data, for Enhancing the Performance of National Team Athletes.” He introduced various advanced technology cases actually applied to enhance the performance of national team athletes, such as AI analysis, wearable sensors, and video analysis systems, emphasizing the importance of field-centered data analysis capabilities and collaboration.

Through this special lecture, students gained a meaningful experience, gaining a tangible understanding of the necessity of data-driven thinking and technology convergence in the field of sports science and comprehending the future trends of the sports industry.
