Big Data Special Lecture — “Big Data in Exercise Physiology”
Lecturer | Professor Jin-Ho Ko, Wonju College of Medicine, Yonsei University
The Department of Sports Science at Jeonbuk National University held a Big Data Special Lecture Series on October 31, 2025, focusing on the integration of data-driven analysis and cutting-edge technology in sports settings. This lecture was designed to explore how artificial intelligence (AI) and big data technologies are being utilized in sports coaching, performance enhancement, and exercise physiology within the rapidly evolving sports science research environment.
Professor Jin-Ho Ko (Yonsei University Wonju College of Medicine) delivered a lecture titled “Big Data in Exercise Physiology (Applications and Research Perspectives).” Professor Ko introduced cutting-edge research approaches, such as bio-signal analysis and exercise response prediction, focusing on big data applications in exercise physiology research and the latest research trends. He also projected that data-driven research will lead a new paradigm in exercise science.
Through this lecture series, students gained a meaningful experience, experiencing firsthand the changes brought about by the convergence of sports science and data science, and understanding the importance of data analysis capabilities required in the future sports industry and research fields.
