The Department of Sports Science at Jeonbuk National University successfully conducted the 2025 Sports Big Data Research Camp from November 20th (Thursday) to November 21st (Friday) at the Hanaru Family Hotel in Mo-hang, Buan, with a 1-night, 2-day schedule. Faculty members, undergraduate students, and graduate students participated together in this camp.

The main goal of the camp was to enhance understanding of the data used across the sports industry and to provide students with the opportunity to experience various analytical approaches that are not typically covered at the undergraduate level.

During the camp, the following topics were covered through student presentations and group discussions:

• The structure and practical applications of athlete training big data

• Data collection and analysis processes in sports rehabilitation

• Key metrics for performance prediction models

• Interpretation of bio-signals from wearable sports devices

• Big data trends in the sports industry and future outlook

Students shared materials related to their areas of interest, exchanging diverse perspectives and exploring ideas that could be applied in actual research projects with the guidance of faculty members.

In addition, the camp provided a relaxed environment for faculty and students to interact and exchange valuable advice on academics and career paths, further strengthening communication and collaboration within the department.

The Department of Sports Science will continue to offer programs aimed at enhancing both the practical and research skills of its students.
