The Division of Science Education in Jeonbuk National University was founded in order to educate creative and challenging science teachers who are responsible for delivering world class science education in Korea. The division of science education consists of four majors: Physics Education, Biology Education, Earth Science Education, and Chemistry Education. The freshmen in these majors generally study the areas of general physics, biology, earth science, chemistry, and general education. Then, from sophomore year, they study specific major-oriented areas through which they learn a variety of major subjects in depth. In addition, students have to go through several areas of educational theory and science education that are necessary for being highly qualified science teachers in middle or high schools.
