Our department is... Our department deals with the scientific and engineering field in reference to the physical and chemical-processing of forest resources, including woods. They are one of the most important biomaterials in the world because they are renewable and degradable. In the 2lst Century it will play an important role as an environmental industry or key industry. Both undergraduate and graduate programs are offered. There are six laboratories: Wood Physics & Mechanics lab., Wood Processing lab., Wood Based-Materials lab., Wood Chemistry lab., Pulp & Paper lab., and Wood Microbiology lab. The undergraduate courses offered include: wood anatomy, wood physics, wood drying, wooden furniture, plywood & wood-based materials board, wood construction, carbohydrate & lignin chemistry, forest resources biomass energy, pulp & paper manufacturing, wood preservation, applied mycology, CNC and CAD.

We study the general scientific and engineering field in conjunction with the physical and chemical processing of forest resources such as wood. Subjects related to the fundamental understanding of biological, physical, and chemical characteristics of wood and processing for reasonable utilizations of forest resources are offered in the major.

There are various fields to enter after graduation such as log harvesting, plywood and wood-based materials board manufacturing, wooden furniture and wooden musical instruments manufacturing, wood construction, pulp and paper manufacturing, wood chemical byproducts manufacturing, researching field, officers, graduate school, etc.
