Molecular Biology
Molecular Biology faculty members are deeply involved in undergraduate education.
In addition to welcoming students into their laboratories to engage in original research, Molecular Biology faculty teach a variety of undergraduate courses, from freshman seminars to upper-level courses on topics ranging from the molecular mechanisms of gene control to the neurobiology of perception and decision-making. The courses taught by Molecular Biology faculty are open to students from all concentrations.
What do I study...
The Molecular Biology Department offers an undergraduate concentration in Molecular and Cellular Biology, which is primarily concerned with the study of biological molecules and their interactions in the context of cells and tissues.
Additionally, Molecular Biology faculty members contribute to the Neurobiology concentration, which is designed for students who wish to study how the nervous system organizes behavior, and the Chemical and Physical Biology concentration, which is intended for students who wish to apply quantitative, physical, and chemical approaches to the study of biology.
