The Aim of the Economics of Education
Our mission here at the Department of Economics is to develop economic professionals who have the necessary education and knowledge for the 21st Century. To realize our mission, we help students learn a variety of economic theories through our curriculum in order for them to have an understanding of economic phenomena and to get an insight into it.
Furthermore, we help to cultivate the ability for economic analysis and the ability to respond to economic phenomena in order to solve various economic problems and to explore alternative solutions. We aim to develop active, aggressive, and creative leaders who are able to contribute to the development of the nation and the regional economy.
Learning Content of the Department of Economics
Here at the Department of Economics, through the study of various theories of economics and applied economics, students will have a comprehensive prospective into economic phenomena by emphasizing the practical use, set-up by including microeconomics and macroeconomics into a total of 38 professional basic courses where students will learn a variety of economic knowledge; including the ability to analyze and solve the current economic situation.
In the Department of Economics, students will not only learn the basic theory of economic phenomenon, but will also learn the economic issues of the micro and macro economy at large such as, economic policy, finance, international affairs, financial affairs, insurance, welfare, labor, environmental issues, urban development, transportation and information technology.
In order for graduates to have a global vision, students will study the regional economics and the economies of South Korea, Japan, the United States and also Chinese economic theory. Students will apply these theories with the application of actual, real-life data collection, analysis, and the use of mathematical models in the various fields of Applied Economics research within institutions and organizations.
The professors use mathematical proof of mathematical economics and econometric inference by using empirical data base knowledge in order to cultivate the students' ability to predict complex economic environments.
The Prospects of the Department of Economics Graduate
Graduates of the Department of Economics will be prepared with knowledge through a wide-range of 21st Century required courses, a variety of related projects, and the adjacent field of a cademics between foreign language training, information capacity development, industrial visits, and specialized qualification development.
Through a variety of examinations, such as the administrative examination, field tests, the civil service examination, graduates can become recognized labor consultants, certified public accountants, tax accountants, damage assessment analysts, and financial and insurance specialist just to name a few.
In addition, graduates will be imparted with the knowledge to be able to thrive in governmental offices, educational institutions, state-owned enterprises, research institutions, banks, insurance companies, large enterprises, and through their roles be able to play an important part in local industry. Furthermore, through our Master's and Doctoral programs in Economics, students can develop a more sophisticated academic research and training ability to become a professor, researcher or economists and contribute to the international, state and local societies.
