Rural Construction Engineering
-
The Department of Agricultural Engineering focuses on identifying sustainable solutions to current and future challenges in agriculture and rural areas. Our program emphasizes the development of future-oriented core technologies that integrate considerations of water, energy, environment, and carbon cycles. In addition to agricultural and rural engineering, the curriculum incorporates advanced national strategic technologies, including Information Technology (IT), Biotechnology (BT), Environmental Technology (ET), and Cultural Technology (CT), allowing students to acquire comprehensive, interdisciplinary expertise that bridges engineering, life sciences, and information technology.
-
We aim to cultivate professionals who can apply specialized knowledge to rural infrastructure development, environmental problem-solving, and regional planning. To equip students with the ability to address emerging challenges in future societies, the department offers a wide range of courses not only in agricultural engineering but also in related disciplines such as civil engineering, environmental engineering, and computer science. For effective education and research, we provide fully equipped laboratories, computer facilities, experimental sites, and field-testing stations for areas such as materials and construction engineering, surveying, soil mechanics, hydraulics, structural engineering, hydrology, irrigation and drainage, rural planning, and controlled environments .
-
Our graduates, equipped with both theoretical expertise and hands-on training, pursue diverse careers in public corporations such as the Korea Rural Community Corporation (KRC), Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water), and Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation (LX), as well as in national research institutes, construction and engineering companies, design and consulting firms, public agencies, education (secondary schools and universities), and research institutions. Many also continue to graduate studies and contribute to society through academic and technological inn ovation.
