"The Department of Biotechnology at Jeonbuk National University was established as part of the specialization efforts following the integration of national universities, offering education in cutting-edge fields."

The department consists of two majors: 「Bio-Resource Materials Engineering」 and 「Environmental Biotechnology」. Based on environmental and life sciences, it aims to nurture talented individuals who will lead the biotechnology (BT) industry, recognized as a next-generation growth engine, and to advance BT-related research in Korea.

To achieve these goals, the department has recruited faculty members with outstanding academic backgrounds and excellent research achievements in BT, and has established state-of-the-art research facilities and student laboratories.

The combined efforts of our faculty and the enthusiasm of our students ensure that, although the department is relatively young, it will quickly become a leading department both at Jeonbuk National University and among universities in Korea.
