What Kinds of Employment can be found after Graduation?
- Most students go to graduate school, all of whom are provided scholarships and living expenses from large Korean enterprises, venture businesses, or the government. After completing their studies, graduate students take charge as researchers and educators at research institutes or colleges related to IB, BT, NT, and ET.
- International students from foreign countries such as China, India, Indonesia, or others come for degree programs or postdoctoral courses and, when they return, they often work as college professors. ?
- For students who do not go to graduate school at Chonbuk National University, some go to Seoul National University, Yonsei University, Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, Akron University, JAIST, Kyoto University; some to graduate schools in chemical engineering, nano materials, electronics, mechanical engineering; and others are employed by large enterprises in Korea or become public officials after passing the civil examination.
Graduate School
1. Department of Polymer Nano Science and Technology
The Department with hybrid fields has allowed students to select their majors differently based on aptitude and taste since its founding with professors from diverse. The Department was established with a Government-appointed research institute for the field of aerospace composites (NT), Stem Cell Research (BT), and materials and components like LCD (IT,ET) from 2005 to the present.
2. Department of Advanced Organic Materials Engineering
The Department deals with development and modification of the new type organic materials handling all of the fields such as the medicine, agriculture, dentistry, engineering, art, the, and etc. The research fields affect all of the organic materials and devices for example the agricultural chemical, special medicine, paint, cosmetics material, food, spice, dye, semiconductor parts, LED element, fuel battery element, solar cell device, Photonics element, and natural, the synthetic material and so on because the each department cannot be solved with the project or they are dispersed inside the University.
3. Department of Design Manufacturing Engineering
As the Department was established in accordance with the Design philosophy of BauerㆍHouse and ideals of Education, it includes all fields related to colleges of Natural Science, Humanities and design of Arts such as Landscape architecture, mechanical design, civil engineering bridge design, architectural design, web design, food design, packaging design, materials as well as industrial design.

The World Class University (WCU) Project is sponsored by the Korea Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. Our proposal, “Development of New Paradigm for BIN Fusion Technology”, from the Chonbuk National University (CBNU) was awarded in May 2009 and the Department of BIN Fusion Technology was created as a graduate educational program at the CBNU. The WCU faculties consist of five foreign and six domestic scientists and scholars in the fields of bio-technology, info-technology and nano-technology who will closely collaborate to develop and grow our Department. Our world class experts and their continuous efforts in conjunction with the invested educational and research resources at the CBNU will develop our department to the world class level. We are committed to play an important role in achieving a CBNU’s goal to become “Top 100 Universities” in the world by year 2020.
5. Department of Flexible and Printable Electronics
(Homepage. http://eprint.jbnu.ac.kr)
Flexible and Printable Electronics relatively start to be recently developed in one of the new areas of study as this study combines the traditional printing techniques with the advanced nanotechnology. Not only do you produce the new applicable techniques in the various fields for the next-generation like printing electronic circuits, sensors, devices, and various electronic products but also this study requires the complicated knowledge on the various fields such as chemical, physical, electrical, electronics, materials, devices, chemical engineering and so on. As the industrial field of new green growth and new growth industries newly created by the convergence of nano-print technology and electronic technology, the research is regarded as a new paradigm in the field of electronic components and materials with features such as low-cost, eco-friendly, flexible, large scale, mass production and a simple process.
