[Department of Sports Science] 2025 Big Data Research Camp Successfully Concluded (Nov. 20–21)
The Department of Sports Science at Jeonbuk National University held the <2025 Sports Big Data Research Camp> from Thursday, November 20 to Friday, November 21. This two-day, one-night event took place at the Mo-hang Haenaru Family Hotel in Buan and brought together professors, undergraduate students, and graduate students.
This camp aimed to help participants understand data utilized across the sports industry and experience diverse analytical approaches rarely encountered at the undergraduate level.
During the camp,
student presentations and group discussions focused on topics including:
* Structure and application cases of athlete training big data
* Data collection and analysis processes in sports rehabilitation
* Selection of key indicators for performance prediction models
* Interpretation of biometric signal data from sports wearables
* Big data trends and future prospects in the sports industry
Students shared materials on their areas of interest, exchanged diverse perspectives, and explored ideas applicable to actual research alongside professors.
Additionally, the relaxed atmosphere facilitated meaningful interactions between professors and students, where academic and career advice was exchanged, strengthening communication among department members.
The Department of Sports Science plans to continue operating programs that simultaneously enhance students' practical skills and research capabilities.
