Dr. Ryu Min-ah, a researcher in the Department of Sports Science, received the Excellence Award in the AR Paper Competition at the 63rd Korean Society of Physical Education Academic Conference Commemorating the 106th National Sports Festival . Her paper, titled Two Perspectives on AR Smart Climbing: Expert and Participant Views, was honored.This academic conference, held at Pusan National University (10.16 Memorial Hall, Humanities Building) from October 17 to 18 under the theme Convergence and Future Innovation in Sports Science, was a large-scale event attended by sports science researchers nationwide. Following the opening ceremony, keynote lectures, and academic presentations on the first day, the awards ceremony for outstanding doctoral dissertations and the AR paper competition took place.Dr. Ryu received the Excellence Award alongside Han Tae-gyu, a doctoral candidate at Yonsei University, and Dr. Do Kyung-min of Kyung Hee University, in recognition of the academic contribution of their research on the acceptance of sports climbing utilizing augmented reality (AR) technology.The award-winning paper analyzed the adoption factors of AR smart climbing from the perspectives of experts and participants. It empirically clarified the relationship between technological utility and social impact through Delphi, AHP, and IPA analyses.It received high praise for proposing a bottom-up planning strategy based on participant experience, focusing particularly on the factors of peer influence and autonomy, thereby suggesting a direction for the development of AR sports content.Dr. Ryu Min-ah stated, The convergence of AR and sports science is a core research area connecting future-oriented education and participatory sports industries, adding, This award will serve as an opportunity to further expand research on participant-centered smart sports content development.
