Department of Organic Materials & Textile Engineering in your
Welcome Thank you for visiting.
Welcome, and thank you for visiting the Department of Organic Materials & Textile Engineering at Jeonbuk National University.
The world is rapidly evolving, with technology advancing at an unprecedented pace. Organic materials and textiles have gained significant attention not only as fundamental components of daily life but also as essential elements in advanced industries and scientific technologies. Their applications span a wide range of areas including textiles, footwear, tires, furniture, electrical and medical devices, sponges, and next-generation electronics—occupying a vital place in human life.
In recent years, cutting-edge technologies such as information technology (IT), biotechnology (BT), nanotechnology (NT), environmental technology (ET), satellite technology (ST), and culture technology (CT) have increasingly relied on organic materials as key enablers for progress and innovation. Compared to leading countries such as the United States, Japan, and European nations, Korea entered this field relatively late. Therefore, strong national support is essential to close the technological gap in organic material synthesis and processing.
To meet these challenges, our department was renamed from Textile Engineering to Organic Materials & Textile Engineering, reflecting our commitment to advanced technology and the evolving needs of industry. Our primary goal is to provide high-quality education in organic materials and textile engineering, while nurturing in our students the knowledge, values, and vision required for lifelong success, continuous learning, and leadership in their chosen careers.
Our academic focus encompasses the full spectrum of organic materials and textile science, as well as their applications—ranging from advanced textiles, nano-textiles, and carbon composites to nano-bio interfaces, organic electronics, and convergence material/device science.
At the Department of Organic Materials & Textile Engineering, we envision a land of hope and innovation—one that leads the way in 21st-century technologies. Together with our students, we aim to surprise the world by transforming dreams and visions into reality through pioneering organic materials and textile technologies that fuel the growth of future industries.
