The world is rapidly changing with technology evolving and improving very fast. It is true that organic materials and Textiles have attracted lots of interests due to their outstanding characteristics in industry and advanced scientific technology as well as basic materials in human life. The organic materials and Textiles can be used in the area of textiles, shoes, tires, furniture, electrical/household/medical appliances, sponges, advanced electronics, etc, which have charged a big portion in human life.

Recently, advanced future technology including information technology (IT), bio-technology (BT), nanotechnology (NT), environment technology (ET), satellite technology (ST), and culture technology (CT) has used organic materials as one of the key components for their improvement and success. Compared to other advanced countries such as United States, Japan, and European countries, Korea is a relative newcomer in this field that national supports are needed to overcome the technical gap in organic material synthesis and processing technology.

Jeonbuk national university changed the department name from textile engineering to organic materials and Textile engineering to catch up with advanced technology and industrial needs. The primary goal of our department is to provide a high-quality education in organic materials and Textile engineering for our students and to instill in them the attitudes, values, and vision that will prepare them for lifetimes of success, continued learning, and leadership in their chosen careers. To achieve the goal, our academic focus spans all aspects of the evolving organic materials and Textile science as well as their applications such as textiles, nano-Textiles, carbon composites, nano-bio applications, organic electronics, and convergence material and device science.

In the department of organic materials and textile engineering, the land of hope and future where will lead the new technology for the 21st century, we shall surprise the world with organic materials and Textile technology for your dreams and visions to bear fruit alongside the growth of the new industry.
