It is possible if you submit a Statement of Withdrawal from an Integrated Master’s and Doctoral Program (refer to the form), which has been confirmed by your research advisor and the head professor of your department, and have it approved. You can download the form from Notice (공지사항) on the website.

※ If you meet the requirements for the completion of a master’s program at the time of withdrawing, your completion of a master’s program will be approved.

Re-admission is applicable when there is a vacancy in a semester. The dates of re-admission are Mar. 1 and Sep. 1 in each semester. The application period is announced about 2 months before a semester begins, and you can inquire on the website or at the department office.

In the case of your academic advisor changing departments (majors) or serving at multiple departments (majors), you can transfer to a department with which your academic advisor is affiliated if you would like.

Within half the minimum credits required for program completion, you can take courses of other departments or majors at the Graduate School, Specialized Graduate Schools and Professional Graduate Schools and have the credits of the courses be counted as credits for program completion in your major.

A graduate student can register for courses of up to 9 credits and can earn up to 9 credits per semester.

To complete a program, a student must earn at least 24 credits in a master’s program, 36 credits in a doctoral program, or 60 credits in an integrated master’s and doctoral program. In addition, a GPA of 3.0 (B⁰) or higher is required for the approval of program completion. Students designated to take prerequisite courses must complete the prerequisite courses besides earning the minimum credits required for program completion.

For a graduate student, the total period of absence (general leave of absence) shall not exceed 4 semesters.

There are some exceptions. A period of compulsory military service is not included when counting the total period of absence (4 semesters). A graduate student can take a leave of absence, which is not counted as general leave of absence, for the reasons of pregnancy, childbirth, childrearing, and running a startup, for up to 4 semesters. *Applicants must submit related evidentiary documents (Medical certificate of pregnancy/childbirth, family relation certificate, copy of a certificate of business registration in joint names, etc.)

During the specified semesters of a program, a student must pay all tuition fees regardless of the number of credits registered.
※ Specified semesters of a program: Master’s/doctoral program: 4 semesters (2 years) /Integrated master’s and doctoral program: 8 semesters (4 years)
