The Science Culture Research Center, established in 2000, is funded by the Korean Ministry of Science and Technology. Its main goal is to initiate and support science culture research, which has both academic and social significance. In order to promote the development of researcher community, the center grants fellowships and opportunities to participate in the research projects to post-doctoral researchers. As a result of those efforts, a network of researchers in science culture is forming and growing.
The center endeavors also to propagate the outcomes of research projects to the public through seminars, forums, online newsletters, and its web site. Thereby the center fosters the public understanding of science and technology. It also supports research projects and activities of field scientists, science teachers, science journalists, which have relevance to science culture in Korea.
