Hello. I'm the head of Jeonbuk National University's Department of
International Trade

We are living in a global economic environment filled with uncertainty and unpredictability. In such times, what we need most are global talents who can respond flexibly to change and pioneer the future with an interdisciplinary perspective.

The Department of International Trade at Jeonbuk National University stands at the very center of this mission. Our department goes beyond teaching economics and business. It provides broad and practical knowledge across international economics, international trade practices, global management and marketing, international commerce, and logistics. This comprehensive education is a unique strength that clearly differentiates us from other departments within the College of Economics and Business.

In particular, through specialized practice-oriented extracurricular programs unique to our department—such as the GTEP program, overseas work experience, internships and employment opportunities, participation in global trade fairs, and industry–academic cooperation projects—our students build solid, hands-on capabilities while still in school, engaging directly with the global stage. These experiences serve as a strong foundation for our graduates to thrive as competitive professionals in domestic and international trade companies, financial institutions, public organizations, and global enterprises.

Furthermore, the career opportunities offered by our department are distinguished even within the field of economics and business. Graduates can pursue the same paths as those in management, economics, finance, marketing, and the public sector, but they also enjoy additional opportunities in specialized professional fields such as customs officers and trade specialists, where international trade expertise is essential. In other words, our students not only share all the career opportunities of the broader business disciplines but also gain the added advantage of entering the wider stage of global trade and commerce.
