Commerce Education Certification Business
To be one of the 100 Global Universities, schools need to specialize each school divisions and actively engage themselves in objective certification systems that prove the quality of education. Commerce Education Certification Business is to improve domestic commercial education established by the Accreditation Board for Trade Education of Korea. This system is to evaluate and certificate colleges' trade education programs and organizations.
Foundation background and purpose of the Accreditation Board for Trade Education of Korea.
- Accreditation Board for Trade Education of Korea (the board) hosted an inaugural assembly on November 16th in 2007 upon the Foundation Promotion Committee, and according to permission achievement for corporation establishment, the board was inaugurated as a corporation on February 25th in 2008.
The board developed an evaluation manual of science of commerce and trade(science of international commerce) for the Korean Council for University Education for two months from March to April in 2007.
The board tries to meet needs of commerce and trade relevant industry, fulfill the strengthening program which is the quality certificate system for market-friendly liberal education by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. Above all, it aims to make good contributions leading trade education industry and cultivating commerce and trade professionals. - The board is carrying out following businesses to accomplish its purposes.
- 1. Establish policies, procedures, and standards about the certification for trade education.
- 2. Certification businesses of personal, educational corporations and programs which fulfill the certification standards.
- 3. Research business on trade education.
- 4. Membership service business which targets members of the board.
- 5. Foreign cooperation business which will lead the internationalization of trade education.
- 6. International certification business which is linked to the foreign certification associations. 7. Businesses that the board of directors approve that are necessary to accomplish the purposes of other certification organizations.
- Members of the board are divided into regular members and special members. Regular members are educational institutions related to commercial academy, and special members are organizations or corporations which specially supported or which worked hard for business of the board. Organizations or corporations which want to join the board, submit an application and achieve the approval from the board of directors and get the memberships. Regular and special members can participate in general assemblies and exercise their votes and can participate in all the businesses that the board is taking in charge of. At the same time, members should pay their membership fees and should follow articles of association and the deliberation of the general assemblies of the board.
