Dental Biomaterials
Jeonbuk National University School of Dentistry's Major and Department
The Department of Dental Biomaterials was founded in 1991. The research fields and teaching activities of our laboratory cover many areas of dental materials and devices including mechanics of composites for restorative materials and metallic materials for dental implant. Together with the study of physical properties, the interaction between dental materials and oral/tooth tissues, bio-compatibility, and toxicity is studied in our department using the many instruments we have to evaluate properties of dental materials. Of special note, we have several machines for surface modification of titanium implant. Our recent research projects focus on the development of ceramic materials and composite resin for aesthetic restoration, and surface modification of titanium implant for bio-compatibility.
