Oral Biochemistry
Jeonbuk National University School of Dentistry's Major and Department
The Department of Oral Biochemistry was founded in 1983 and forms part of the organized and integrated educational programs for pre-clinical dental course work consisting of biochemistry, dental biochemistry and nutrition. A long-term goal of research in the department is to solve the triangular relationship of cancer, ageing and inflammation. As a tool for this goal finding, we check the inflammation of dental and perio pulp clarifying the mechanism and related molecules involved for the treatment. We have also tried to expand the new techniques of implant to exploit the gene therapy by introducing various treatment related genes onto the surface of alveolar bones as a joint project with the Department of Dental Materials.
