Conservative Dentistry
Jeonbuk National University School of Dentistry's Major and Department
The primary concern and goal of Conservative Dentistry is for the preservation of the natural teeth in the mouth. It consists mainly of two parts, namely, operative and endodontic dentistry. The practice of operative dentistry includes gold restoration, direct and indirect resin restoration, esthetic anterior restoration, and autogenous tooth transplantation. The practice of endodontic dentistry involves root canal treatment, microscopic periapical surgery, intentional replantation, and so on. All dentists in the Department of Conservative Dentistry make an effort to restore the teeth to full function and appearance in an esthetically pleasing manner with as little loss of healthy tooth structure as possible. In addition, our research interest lies in investiaging some issues associated with adhesive dentistry and inflammation and regeneration in pulp and periapical tissues.
