Jeonbuk National University School of Dentistry's Major and Department
The Department of Orthodontics was founded in 1983. Since its beginning the department has been engaged in research, teaching and patient care. The mission of the department is to educate both pre-doctoral dental students and graduate students. The pre-doctoral orthodontic experience includes various pre-clinical and clinical opportunities. The graduate program consists of intensive edifying, clinical, and research components. With the mission of patient care, besides the conventional orthodontic management of malocclusion, orthodontic, orthopedic and orthognathic management of various types of maxillofacial deformities is provided. With the laboratory of craniofacial cell biology included in the department facilities, orthodontic faculty members are heavily engaged in research.
