Introduction
The Electrical Engineering plays a major role in various engineering fields in modern society. It deals with both macroscopic and microscopic electromagnetic phenomena and gives a fundamental basis to neighboring engineering fields. The Department of Electrical Engineering at Chonbuk National University is recognized for excellence in research, instruction, and service to the profession. It ranks among top electrical engineering departments in national surveys, consistently producing talented graduates whose skills are respected throughout the nation. Its distinguished faculty leads exciting research efforts that span both traditional and emerging areas in electrical engineering such as analog circuit design, superconductivity, control & measurement system, optical communication, microwave, plasma application, power engineering, and power electronics & machine drives. Interdisciplinary research and educational programs are a major component of the activities in our department. In particular, the department puts an emphasis on such diverse fields as renewable energy sources and sustainability aspects of modern industry. Our department offers students a tremendous range of research and educational opportunities exploiting both technological and conceptual innovations in electrical engineering with a view to help students to get ready for dynamic world of industry.
