Introduction
As an area that serves as the basis of national industries, enhances human welfare, and acts as the cornerstone of national competitiveness, infrastructure civil engineering is a study that pursues convenience of human life and is based on the purpose of constructing various infrastructure facilities indispensable in human life, such as roads, airports, ports, railroads, bridges, dams, water and sewage facilities, plant facilities, power facilities, and marine facilities. Moreover, infrastructure civil engineering is a study that deals with technology that enables facilities to present optimal performance while simultaneously achieving safe design, construction, maintenance, and management of facilities from various disasters, such as earthquakes or typhoons. Furthermore, we foster professional researchers and technicians that can contribute to the development of national and regional self-governing bodies by helping students to acquire advanced applied skills, such as survey, design, and construction of infrastructure facilities related with environment and cities. Infrastructure civil engineering does not restrict construction to infrastructure facilities on the ground but is expanding into extensive fields, such as the development of space, improvement of technology for developing marine and submarine resources, development of desert, and development of large-scale underground space.
