Introduction
The department provides a high quality undergraduate and graduate teaching and learning environment in designated or selected areas of urban engineering in order to allow students to enter the general and professional practice. Our department focuses on urban planning/design and transportation. Urban planning/design deals with methods and techniques for the establishment of an agreeable and convenient urban environment, based on understanding the physical environment's structure and the variable urban spatial structure. Transportation deals with fundamental principles pertaining to urban transportation engineering and methods of planning while operating to solve transportation problems.
There are curriculums designed to provide education and training in state of the art planning techniques for urban, transportation, and landscape by placing the first consideration on basic design and planning, which can be directly applied to the real world. Curriculums are divided into five divisions: urban planning, urban development, urban design, urban transportation planning, and other related subjects. The major of Urban Engineering is composed of the division of urban design encompassing site design, the division of urban planning encompassing city planning, the division of urban development encompassing city & regional development and the division of urban transportation planning.
